Ivar Wigan
Ivar Wigan is a photographer and filmmaker working at the intersection of fashion, music, and contemporary culture. His work is defined by an instinctive, immersive approach to portraiture and narrative, capturing subjects with a raw immediacy and emotional depth.
Rooted in long-form documentary practice, Ivar’s early projects established his reputation for exploring youth and subcultural identity. His first series, The Gods, shot across the American South, was exhibited internationally, followed by Young Love, created while living within Kingston’s Dancehall community and later shown in a solo exhibition at Somerset House. His portraits have also featured in Coming of Age, curated by Virgil Abloh, and more recently in Hard Copy at Webber Gallery, Los Angeles.
Alongside his art practice, Ivar has developed an expanding body of commercial and editorial work, collaborating with leading fashion houses, global brands and musicians. His imagery brings a distinctive balance of documentary energy and refined visual language, bridging authenticity with a heightened sense of style.
In 2022, Ivar wrote and directed his debut film Kassandra, which screened internationally and received multiple awards, further extending his narrative voice into moving image.
His clients include Louis Vuitton, Alexander Wang, Nike x Nocta , Hugo Boss, Smirnoff, Capitol Records, Supreme and Mixpak.
His editorial work has been published in titles including Vogue, Dazed, i-D, The Face, Numéro Berlin, The Guardian, CR Fashion Book and Purple, among others.
